I visited the Links to School Bloggers link from Treedon's blog which led me to Langwitches- The Magic of Learning through Technology. This was a great site packed with information about blogging in the classroom, digital learning, global education and using Ipads in the classroom. There is so much in this blog, it will take a long time to unpack all of it.
There are Unit plans for classroom blogging and digital story telling. There are numerous links to conferences and downdloads concerning technology in the classroom. There is a section on professional development. Everywhere I look on this blog, it goes deeper and becomes more specific. This is a great blog for ideas and resources.
I am really glad you shared this. In the last class my group was responsible for answering the questions about the digital stories and we were not really sure what exactly they could be or what exactly to do with them in the classroom. We really did not know how to grade them either so the fact that this blog dives into this topic is exciting!
ReplyDeleteI mentioned this website in my blog this week, it was one of the ones I thought to be most helpful. Surprisingly Langwitches was one I did happen to search to find out more about it and I browsed through many other ones that were just as interesting. One that you should consider reading is High Techpectations, it gives teachers resources and ideas on how to incoporate technology into the classroom. Each one surprisingly seemed to have different ideas and points, and you wouldn't think this because there are so many. Thank you for sharing this, I am so glad we were able to learn about this website, I think this will be a great tool to use our first year as teachers, especially because that first year is the most nerve racking.
ReplyDeleteI think sites like this are important for educators. The last thing you want as a teacher is to use technology either ineffectively or incorrectly in your classroom. So a site specifically devoted to technology in the class room with usages and class assignments is a really helpful tool for the teacher to be well learned of whatever multimodal tool that he/she wants to bring into the classroom.
